How should lyophilized research peptides be stored?
Keep lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powder in its original sealed, light-protected vial at -20°C or colder, away from moisture, until it is used in a laboratory protocol.
Cold, dark, and dry are the three conditions that keep a lyophilized peptide stable between the batch's COA test date and when it is actually used.
What happens if lyophilized peptide is left at room temperature?
Extended exposure to heat, light, and humidity degrades peptide stability and purity, which is why lyophilized material should return to cold storage promptly after handling.
Degradation is a chemical process, not a visible one — a vial can look unchanged while its purity has already shifted from the value stated on its COA.
What personal protective equipment does laboratory handling call for?
Standard laboratory PPE — nitrile gloves, safety glasses, and a lab coat — plus handling the powder inside a fume hood or biosafety cabinet to avoid inhaling airborne particulate.
Fine lyophilized powder can aerosolize briefly when a vial is opened; containment equipment is what keeps that particulate out of the working environment.
How should a spill of peptide powder or working solution be cleaned up?
Follow standard laboratory spill protocol: contain the area, use appropriate absorbent material, and dispose of contaminated waste per your institution's chemical safety procedures — never down a drain.
A research chemical spill is handled the same way any lab handles an unintended release of a substance whose downstream fate hasn't been assessed for a drain or general waste stream.
How should unused research material be disposed of?
Through your laboratory's or institution's chemical or biological waste disposal program, in line with local regulations — never household trash and never a drain.

No — COA purity and identity data describe the compound as shipped; storage and handling protocols apply to any lyophilized peptide of that class regardless of its individual COA result.
A COA answers what the vial contains. Handling protocol answers how to work with any material in that physical form — the two are independent.
